Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy in Buckinghamshire and Kent
A gentle therapeutic approach that may be incorporated into work around anxiety, fear and stress.
Hypnotherapy is one of the approaches I offer within my integrative work. It may be considered for some people experiencing anxiety, fears or phobias. The work is adapted to the individual rather than presented as a quick fix, and you remain able to communicate and make choices throughout.

What Is Hypnotherapy?
Using focused attention in a therapeutic way
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that can be used alongside conversation to help explore thoughts, feelings and responses. It involves guided, focused attention, and the work is paced around you.
It is not about losing control or being made to do something against your wishes. You remain able to communicate and make choices during the work, and you can say if you want to stop.
Who May Find It Useful
When might hypnotherapy be considered?
Whether hypnotherapy is appropriate depends on your individual circumstances rather than on a label. It may be considered when you are experiencing:
Anxiety
Worry, tension or a sense of being on edge that is affecting everyday life.
Fears and phobias
An intense fear connected with a particular situation, object or experience.
Stress
Pressure and overwhelm that are difficult to switch off.
The first step is understanding what is happening for you and whether hypnotherapy, another approach or a combination may be more appropriate.
How I Use Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy within an integrative approach
I work integratively. Hypnotherapy may form part of the work for some people, depending on what they want help with. It can sit alongside other approaches such as EMDR, CBT, somatic psychotherapy and counselling, and the combination depends on what is appropriate for you.
You do not need to decide which approach you need before getting in touch.
No Fixed Result or Timeframe
Will hypnotherapy remove a fear or phobia quickly?
People respond differently. The nature of the fear, how long it has been present, other experiences and the wider circumstances can all matter. I do not promise:
- A cure
- A one-session result
- A guaranteed outcome
- A fixed number of sessions
- A success percentage
We review the work according to your individual response.
