A few details before we speak

Please keep this form brief. You do not need to provide detailed trauma, medical or mental health information here.

Hi, I’m Genovieve. I am a trauma psychotherapist working with adults across Buckinghamshire and Kent. I have completed more than 2,000 clinical client hours and use an integrative, trauma-informed approach that may include EMDR, somatic psychotherapy, CBT, DBT-informed work, hypnotherapy and counselling.

You do not need to know which type of therapy you need before we speak. The consultation is simply a first conversation.

  • A confidential conversation: we can briefly discuss what you are looking for and any questions you have.
  • No pressure: booking a consultation does not mean you are committing to ongoing therapy.
  • Your pace: you decide how much you want to explain during the call.

Please keep this brief. You do not need to describe traumatic experiences or provide detailed medical information through this form.

What Happens on the Call?

Your consultation in three simple steps

  1. Step 1: Tell me what has brought you here

You can briefly explain what you have been experiencing and what you would like help with. You do not need to tell your full story.

  2. Step 2: Ask your questions

You can ask about my therapeutic approach, EMDR, trauma therapy, fees, availability, locations, online sessions and what a first therapy session is like.

  3. Step 3: Decide what feels right

If my approach appears appropriate, I can explain what the next step would involve. You can then decide whether you would like to continue. There is no obligation to book therapy simply because we have spoken.

You Do Not Need to Know What to Say

Many people reach this page not knowing how to explain

That is okay. You might begin with something as simple as:

  • “I think past experiences are still affecting me.”
  • “I have been feeling anxious and would like support.”
  • “I am interested in EMDR but do not know whether it is right for me.”
  • “I am struggling in my relationship.”
  • “I am not sure what kind of therapy I need.”

That is enough to start the conversation.

What This Call Is Not

A consultation is not a therapy session

The introductory call is a short, informal conversation. It is not intended to provide:

  • A diagnosis
  • A full clinical assessment
  • Trauma processing
  • Emergency mental health support
  • Detailed therapeutic intervention

Its purpose is to help us understand whether taking the next step together may be appropriate.

Common Questions

Consultation FAQ

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. There is no fee for the introductory call and no obligation to begin therapy afterwards.

What do we talk about?

We briefly discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you are looking for and any questions you have. You do not need to provide your full personal history during the call.

Do I need to know which therapy I want?

No. You may have read about EMDR, trauma therapy, CBT, DBT, somatic psychotherapy or hypnotherapy and still be unsure. We can begin with what you are experiencing and consider the options from there.

What if I need to change the call?

Use the phone number or email in your confirmation message and we will arrange another time.

What happens after the consultation?

If we both feel that working together may be appropriate, we can discuss availability, fees and arranging your first therapy session. You remain free to decide whether you want to continue.

Final Reassurance

Reaching out is enough for today.

You do not need to understand everything before we speak. You do not need the perfect words. And you do not need to decide today whether therapy is the right next step. The consultation is simply a place to begin.
