One-to-One Coaching

One-to-One Coaching

Sometimes you do not need therapy.

You may simply feel stuck, uncertain about your direction or ready to make changes but unsure how to move forward. My one-to-one coaching sessions provide structured, practical support to help you understand where you are now, decide what you want to change and turn those ideas into realistic next steps. The work is shaped around your individual goals rather than a fixed coaching programme.

What Is One-to-One Coaching?

Personalised support focused on your goals

One-to-one coaching is a collaborative process. We begin by looking at what is happening in your life or work, where you feel stuck and what you would like to achieve. From there, we can identify priorities, explore obstacles and build a practical plan for moving forward.

Coaching can give you space to think more clearly while also helping you stay focused on the actions you want to take. It is not about someone else making decisions for you. The aim is to help you develop greater clarity and take responsibility for the choices that matter to you.

Coaching May Help If…

Are you feeling stuck or unsure what comes next?

You may find coaching useful if you are:

  • Feeling uncertain about your direction
  • Struggling to turn ideas into action
  • Finding it difficult to prioritise
  • Feeling unfulfilled in your work
  • Considering a career or professional change
  • Taking on greater responsibility
  • Struggling to balance competing demands
  • Finding it difficult to manage your time effectively
  • Lacking confidence in a new role
  • Wanting clearer personal or professional goals
  • Looking for greater accountability
  • Trying to improve how you communicate or lead

You do not need to have everything figured out before starting. Part of the coaching process is working out what matters most.

How We Work Together

Coaching built around you

Every person arrives with different circumstances, responsibilities and goals. Rather than following one rigid formula, I work with you to understand what would be most useful. Together, we may focus on:

Clarifying your goals

We identify what you actually want to achieve and what success would look like for you.

Understanding what is getting in the way

Sometimes the obstacle is practical. Sometimes it is uncertainty, confidence, habits, priorities or the way you approach decisions. We look at what is happening without judgement.

Creating an action plan

Large goals can feel overwhelming. We break them into realistic and manageable actions so you know what to focus on next.

Accountability

Knowing what to do and actually doing it are often very different things. Coaching gives you a structured place to review your progress, identify what worked and adjust what did not.

Building practical skills

Depending on your goals, we may work on communication, planning, organisation, decision-making, confidence or leadership.

Personal Development Coaching

Create more clarity in your personal life

Not every coaching goal is about business. You may be thinking about your priorities, confidence, habits, boundaries or the direction you want your life to take. One-to-one coaching can provide space to step away from day-to-day pressures and consider questions such as:

  • What do I actually want?
  • What feels out of balance?
  • What keeps getting pushed aside?
  • Which habits are helping me?
  • Which patterns are holding me back?
  • What is within my control?
  • What practical change could I begin with?

The aim is not to create a perfect life. It is to help you make more deliberate decisions and take realistic action.

Professional & Business Coaching

Move forward with greater focus

Work can become frustrating when you know you are capable of more but are unsure what needs to change. You may feel:

  • Underused or undervalued
  • Unsure about your next career step
  • Overloaded by competing priorities
  • Unclear about your responsibilities
  • Stuck when making decisions
  • Frustrated by communication problems
  • Unsure how to lead effectively
  • Concerned that you are spending time without making meaningful progress

Our coaching conversations can help you step back from the immediate pressure and look more clearly at the situation. From there, we can identify priorities and decide what practical action makes sense.

Leadership Coaching

Develop a leadership style that works for you and your team

Leadership is not simply about having authority. It involves communication, decision-making, responsibility and understanding how your behaviour affects the people around you. Leadership coaching may focus on areas such as:

  • Communicating expectations more clearly
  • Managing difficult conversations
  • Delegating effectively
  • Building confidence as a manager
  • Setting priorities
  • Developing accountability within a team
  • Managing competing demands
  • Understanding your leadership style
  • Motivating and supporting others
  • Making clearer decisions under pressure

Whether you are a new manager or an experienced leader, coaching can give you a confidential space to reflect on how you work and where you would like to improve.

Overcoming Obstacles

Turn challenges into practical next steps

Feeling stuck does not always mean that you lack ability. Sometimes the problem is that too many things are competing for your attention at the same time. In coaching, we can work through the situation one part at a time. The purpose is practical progress rather than perfection.

Setting clear goals

Turning broad ambitions into something specific enough to work towards.

Identifying the real obstacle

Understanding whether the challenge is time, confidence, communication, resources, priorities or something else.

Prioritising

Deciding which actions matter now and which can wait.

Building a plan

Breaking the next stage into manageable actions.

Reviewing progress

Looking honestly at what is working and where something needs to change.

What You Can Expect From Me

Clear support without judgement

My role as a coach is to help you think more clearly, ask useful questions and turn insight into action. You can expect me to:

  • Listen carefully to what you want to achieve
  • Help you clarify your priorities
  • Ask questions that challenge assumptions
  • Help you recognise patterns that may be getting in the way
  • Support you in creating realistic goals
  • Encourage accountability
  • Help you review progress
  • Adapt the coaching process around your circumstances

I can be direct when that is useful, but the decisions remain yours. Coaching works best when you are willing to reflect honestly and take action between sessions.

Coaching or Therapy?

What is the difference?

Coaching and therapy are different services. If you are unsure which is more appropriate, you do not need to decide alone. Get in touch and briefly explain what you are looking for.

Coaching

Generally focused on your present circumstances, future goals, decisions and practical actions: career direction, leadership, confidence, priorities, personal development, communication, performance, decision-making and goal setting.

Therapy

May be more appropriate when you want professional support with trauma, mental health difficulties, emotional distress or experiences from the past that continue to affect you. My therapeutic work includes trauma therapy, EMDR and other psychotherapy approaches.

What Happens in a Coaching Session?

A practical conversation focused on where you want to go

A typical coaching session may include:

  • Reviewing what has happened since we last spoke
  • Identifying the issue you most want to focus on
  • Exploring what is contributing to the situation
  • Considering possible options
  • Agreeing practical next steps
  • Identifying what you will work on before the next session

The session is collaborative. I will not simply hand you a list of instructions. The goal is to help you make decisions you understand and can realistically act on.

How Long Does Coaching Take?

Do I need an ongoing programme?

There is no fixed coaching programme or package length. Some people may need only a small number of focused sessions. Others may prefer ongoing support while working through a larger personal, professional or leadership goal. We can discuss what you are trying to achieve before deciding what format makes sense.

How much does one-to-one coaching cost?

Please get in touch to ask about coaching session options and fees. You can also read the practice’s payment and cancellation terms on the fees page.

Coaching with Genovieve Feasey

I bring a direct, practical and supportive approach to my work. My experience includes supporting people through change, helping them look at situations from a different perspective and encouraging them to take responsibility for the decisions they want to make.

Common Questions

Questions about one-to-one coaching

What can a one-to-one coach help with?

Coaching can help you clarify goals, make decisions, identify obstacles and create practical actions. Common areas may include career direction, confidence, productivity, leadership, communication, priorities and personal development. The focus depends on what you want to work towards.

Is coaching the same as therapy?

No. Coaching is generally focused on goals, decisions and practical progress. Therapy may be more suitable when you want support with trauma, significant emotional distress or mental health difficulties. Genovieve offers both services, but they are separate forms of support.

Do I need to be a business owner or manager?

No. One-to-one coaching is offered to individuals as well as for professional and leadership development. Your goals do not need to be business-related.

Will you tell me what to do?

No. A coach may challenge you, ask questions and help you evaluate your options, but you remain responsible for your decisions. Coaching is designed to help you think more clearly and take action rather than hand control to someone else.

How many coaching sessions will I need?

There is no fixed standard programme. The number of sessions depends on what you want to work on and how much support you need.

Ready to Move Forward?

Take the next step with greater clarity.

If you know something needs to change but you are not sure where to begin, we can start with a conversation. Tell me what you are trying to achieve, where you feel stuck and what you would like to be different. From there, we can decide whether coaching is the right form of support.
