Request Received
Thank You for Reaching Out
Your request has been received.
Taking the first step can sometimes feel difficult, so there is nothing else you need to work out right now. Below is a simple explanation of what happens next.
What Happens Next?
Three simple things to know
-
01
Step 1: We have your details
You should also receive a short acknowledgement by email, using the address you gave. Please check your spam or junk folder if you do not see it.
-
02
Step 2: Find somewhere private if you can
If possible, choose somewhere you feel comfortable speaking openly. You do not need to prepare notes or organise your thoughts perfectly beforehand.
-
03
Step 3: Genovieve will be in touch
Genovieve will contact you using the details you provided to arrange a time to talk. Keep your phone nearby and make sure the number you gave is available.
What Will We Talk About?
The consultation is a short first conversation
During the consultation, you can briefly explain what has brought you to therapy and ask any questions you may have. We may discuss:
- What you would like support with
- What has brought you to therapy now
- Whether Genovieve’s approach may be suitable
- Therapy options, including EMDR or trauma therapy
- Fees and availability
- In-person or online sessions
- What the first therapy session may involve
You do not need to tell your full story during this call.
What Should I Prepare?
Nothing complicated
You do not need to complete a detailed history or prepare a written account of what has happened. If helpful, you may simply think about what made you decide to get in touch, what you would like help with, any questions you want to ask and what you would like to feel different in your life. That is enough.
You Are in Control
You choose what you share
The consultation is not a therapy session. You will not be expected to describe difficult experiences in detail. You decide what feels comfortable to discuss. If you are unsure whether therapy is right for you, that is also something we can talk about.
This conversation does not commit you to therapy. If it feels like a good fit, the next step can be discussed. If you decide not to continue, that is completely your choice.
While You Wait

This service is not for emergencies
Please do not wait for your call if you need urgent help. The Choice to Change is not an emergency service. If you or someone else needs immediate mental health support, use the Urgent Help page. If there is an immediate risk to life, contact the appropriate emergency service.
We Will Speak Soon
There is nothing else you need to prepare today.
Your consultation is simply an opportunity to talk, ask questions and decide what feels right for you.
